Work From Home
It’s been about a year since work from home became the new normal for most (if not all) of us. If you’re one of the chosen ones that are still working 9-5 from home and you have definitely hit your breaking point with productivity, this is the blog for you. Use these tips to help ease your time throughout the workday and staying motivated!
Tools
First thing’s first, make sure you have all the essentials to be able to work efficiently: workspace, a computer, good Wifi connection, headphones, and self-discipline!
Workspace
Find the are in your home that conducive to working – whether it is a desk, your kitchen table, or the couch. Just make sure wherever it is, it lets you stay focused!
Routine
Wake up early, take a shower, have breakfast or a cup of coffee. This routine helps prepare your mind and body for a productive day of work.
To-Do list
Before you sit down, have a list of your priorities for the day. Set blocks of time to complete your tasks and make sure you stick to your schedule!
Communicate
Check-in, periodically, with your colleagues to update them on your schedule and deliverables – especially if there are any changes.
Breaks
The key is balance! Give yourself enough time during the day to walk away from your computer screen. Stand on your porch, pet your dogs or get another cup of coffee (no judgment here), just make sure you step away!
Playlists
If listening to music while you work is your thing, create a playlist of your favorite upbeat music to jam to while working. You can even share your playlists with your colleagues and you may get new music in return. Pro Tip: make sure you’re on mute if singing along to music during your 2:00 PM meeting!
Schedule
Coordinate your work schedules with your roommate, significant other, and your kids. This will help designate chores out when you know the others are free!
