Covid-19 Friendly Activities
While we are all following precautionary orders to flatten the curve of Covid-19, we can all use a fresh set of ideas to get us staying sane through these times. Below are 5 ideas for you to get some fresh air or a fresh mindset while still staying healthy and safe. Be sure to let us know what your favorite quarantine activity has been so we can get some ideas ourselves!
Go “camping” in your backyard
What better way to get the feeling of fresh air and a crisp fire than in your own backyard?! If this means setting up a tent (or fort), lighting a campfire and enjoying a night under the stars while still having access to central air and plumbing, then sign me up! Gives you the best feeling of a vacation even when these times may permit you from going to an actual campground.
Stroll through Arbor Hills
We know we are all itching to just get out and breathe more than air conditioning all day, and that is why Arbor Hills Nature Preserve in Plano has made this list. The 200 acre nature preserve is full of views, critters and is the perfect place for a family stroll with the pups. We do have to recommend an early hike or an evening stroll because the Texas heat has not “quarantined” at all during this pandemic.
Grow a garden
Vegetables, fruits or herbs – all your decision! Gardening can not only be relaxing, but also gives you the satisfaction of knowing YOU grew the food you are cooking. This is something the whole family can take part of and have their own plant to care for.
Build an at-home gym
Many gyms across the nation have implemented some serious burdensome (but necessary) precautions to ensure their members stay safe. What better way to stay safe than working out in the one place you know for sure is ‘clean’ – your home! Almost any everyday item can be turned into workout equipment and all you need is a place you can squat and jump.
Don’t fret, though – if bicep curls with milk jugs isn’t your thing, there are a ton of YouTube videos out there with full equipment free workouts! You’re just one YouTube search away from that six pack (you decide if we’re referring to beer here).
Movie Marathon
OBVIOUSLY we had to add this to the list, because we all love the occasional Netflix binge. Now is the perfect time to lay in the bed (or on the couch if you can make it there) and have your own movie marathon! Pop some popcorn, grab the candy and drinks and throw on one of the Dark Knight Trilogy movies. It’s all your decision if you decide to tell anyone you watched all 3 in one night, though!
